It all began in the small town of Clearwater, BC. I started like any great Chef, as a dishwasher for a small local restaurant that provided rustic, and home cooked, German cuisine. The beginning of what was to blossom into my passion for people and unlicensed creativity in the kitchen.
The after-work meal every evening showed me the power of food and how effortlessly it can bring a group of unlikely people together. I quickly learned that this profession would pair nicely with my current hobbies. I could travel anywhere with this skill. And I did!
I completed my professional Red Seal training at Camosun College in Victoria, BC in 2011. From fine dining to local pubs and Ski hills to backcountry lodges, I moved from place to place acquiring new skills and making new friends.

I was introduced to catering when I began working with the great people of the Wildfire Management Branch.
British Columbia has some of the fiercest wildfires in the world and what better group of likeminded, outdoorsy, hardworking individuals to provide hot gourmet meals for?
I have provided emergency catering services to the wildfire fighters for over 20 years. I have provided meals for as many as 900 people with my team. The experience has taken me across British Columbia, to Alberta and the Yukon.
I moved into management quickly. With over a decade of experience managing catering, janitorial, and laundry services for the wildfire personnel. I acquired a special logistics skillset. From human resources, hands on training, bookkeeping,
and managing many successful teams. I pride myself on great
communication and leadership.
After many years in the hospitality industry, I realized how I could put all my skills to great use and started Jackpine Catering & Consulting Ltd.
